High employment does not always mean secure work
A high employment rate in Nigeria does not automatically mean most workers have stable or well-paid jobs. Many people are counted as employed because they worked for pay or profit, even briefly, during the reference week.
That is why employment, unemployment, and informal work need to be read together. A worker can be employed and still have fragile earnings or low-quality work.
In simple terms: Nigeria’s employment rate is high, but job quality is still a separate question.
